STRAWBAR ORIGIN AND STRAWBAR PLATINUM BOTH WIN SILVER MEDALS AT LONDON SPIRITS COMPETITION 2021

Great news! The first ever bottlings of our Origin and Platinum Strawbar brands have won Silver medals at the London Spirits Competition.

We’re celebrating this success with a couple of excellent Strawbar cocktails in the sun. Join us for a cocktail and say cheers!

Our Origin eau de vie achieved 87pts and a Silver medal, and Platinum received 86pts and a Silver medal.

The London Spirits Competition looks to recognise, reward and help promote spirits brands that have successfully been created to identify with and target a specific spirits drinker. For any spirits brand to earn its place on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s spirits list – and then vitally stay there – they need to be marketable and consumer-driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it.

That is why the London Spirits Competition is different from other awards. It aims to single out and shine the spotlight on those spirits brands that consumers really want to buy and have a clear market value for trade buyers.

The judges said about Origin 40.0% abv:

“Very complex aromatics and beautiful natural berried fruit character of strawberries and huckleberries. Lovely spice across the palate with bight berry notes.”

While they commented on Platinum 45.0% abv, saying:

“Blackberry jam, hints of cinnamon spice on the nose with light notes of strawberries and wild berries. Light spice and lovely creamy mouthfeel.”

We were amongst good company with Origin and Platinum achieving some of the top medal spots in the Fruit Spirits (Distilled) category, alongside brands like Jozsef Stevlik and Distillerie Massenez.
